3d Character Design Results

This project was definately a lesson in resiliance.
Both Blender and my own body decided to fight me on this project, but I have something I am decently proud of?

Despite issues I managed to do something, my main regret is the fact that I did everything in blender. I really wish I could of done more in other applications like substance painter and Z brush. Unfortantly due to the Lab opening times and for some reason everything taking so much longer than I anticipated, I couldn’t manage that.

So to the actual model itself. I do think its a good prepresentation of Pia, Its clear, I just wish I had more time and my health didn’t deteriorate; so I could of done a better job on the painting. It’s rather unfortunate.
I was very mixed on the sculpting, some bits like the boots, the hat and espessially the head, I thought I did a really good job on!
Unfortunately some things like the Jumper and dungarees I was fine with, for a bit.. but the more I looked at them, the more I hated them, to make them better I think I would have liked to practice doing clothing folds and also smoothing out the surface a lot more.

But surprisingly, the unwrap went fine, it actually went quite well, I’m kind of astonished.
The only issue was that I wasn’t good at applying the image texture, I made it too low quality so everything became a bit pixelated.

I was also too sleep deprived to notice that I forgot the buckles and tail until after the turn around rendered.. which is very much just a skill issue on my part.
Also when I first attempted the turn around it just didn’t work on the eyes at all, they just retracted inside the head, I’m still confused but when I did my best to put them back I think I did it upside down because she’s gone from big cute round eyes to sadder eyes which isn’t nessisarily aganst her character personality its just different.

I think the project could be massively improved by some refinement.

Overall I’d give it a 6/10.
