As my environment was a forest that aliens has crash landed in and decided to live together in at least until their ship was better, which explored the beauty in friendship, nature and resourcefulness. With aesthetic inspiration from the short film ‘playground’ by Bertie Gilbert and Sammy Paul, and the works of PJ Ligouri.

I thought back to what memories I had of friends, and several came to mind but it was hard trying to think of a discernible object that sort of exemplified them. Eventually I decided on a sofa because of the memories/thoughts of sitting, cuddling with friends, or my girlfriend, and watching movies, tv shows and funny youtube videos.
I wanted the sofa to follow the ideas of the environment, aliens had crashed into a forest and were living there and using parts of their broken ship and the natural environment to live happily and create a shelter, so I wanted the sofa to be made from natural things and also stuff from the ship, like metal and plastic.
From there I explored different ways to structure the miss-matched of the sofa in my sketch book and used what I liked in designing the asset. until I had a rough sketch at the end of my notes, for basis.
